Thomas Hamer claimed gold at the British Swimming Championships in the men’s para 200m freestyle.
The Burnley Bobcat star won by more than a second in 2.02.60 in a dominant performance in Glasgow to see off Jack Thomas and Benjamin Procter.
Ryan Bennett secured sixth in the final of the 100m butterfly last night.
The Chorley ace swam 53.43 from lane seven in a race won by James Guy in 52.55.
Bennett posted a time of 54.30 seconds in his heat on Sunday morning to progress to the semi-finals later that evening where he lowered his time to 53.77 to qualify for last night’s final.
Burnley Bobcat Katie Rennolds is in action this morning in the 400m freestyle heats with the final later on tonight should see progress.
The teenager swam 9.14.84 to miss out on a place in last night’s final by just under a second and a half.
She will hope to reach the last eight in the shorter event.
Blackburn ace Josh Walsh bowed out in the 100m freestyle heats on Saturday morning with his swiim of 51.46 only good enough for 28th spot as he missed out on a semi-final berth.
But Walsh had enjoyed success in the 200m freestyle earlier in the Championships where he finished fifth in the final in 1.4937 as he attempts to secure a spot in England’s Commonwealth Games squad.
Elsewhere, teenager Anna Hopkin was hugely impressive in qualifying for the semi-final of the 50m butterfly. Hopkin swam 27.99 to qualify in 15th place.
The Blackburn youngster finished eighth in her semi final in 28.11 as Fran Halsall headed the timesheets.
William Murray (Burnley Bobcats) finished 59th in the men's 100m freestyle in 53.54.
