Nelson chairman Fayyaz Ahmed was delighted to see so many turn out for Saturday’s game with Atherton Collieries.
The title-chasing Admirals made Saturday copmmunity day and welcomed more 200 people to Victoria Park see the win.
“It’s a step in the right direction,” said Ahmed.
“We did an exercise in Nelson town centre which seems to have worked really well, and that’s something we need to do more of, especially over the summer and into next season.”
Nelson plan a repeat in the new season, using some high profile pre-season friendlies and league games.
