TITLE favourites Chorley bid to recover from a rare bad week as they aim to get back to winning ways and take another step towards the Evo-Stik League Premier Division title tomorrow.
Garry Flitcroft’s Magpies welcome Nantwich Town to Victory Park desperate to recover from the jolt of a 4-1 beating by AFC Fylde in the Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy final, a defeat which followed hot on the heels of last Saturday’s league loss at Rushall Olympic when the leaders finished the game with nine men.
But despite that they remain in pole position ahead of the Cheshire outfit’s visit to Lancashire and are two points clear of the chasing pack with a game in hand.
The game also sees a return to the area for a host of Nantwich men with former Blackburn Rovers trainee Osebi Abadaki, ex-Clarets Matty O’Neill and Earl Davis, former Clitheroe hitman Ollie Devenney as well as former Chorley keeper Jack Cudworth and former Victory Park defender Steve Foster all set to line up in the game.
The Magpies will also be keeping a close eye on Worksop’s trip to Stafford, Fylde’s clash with Stamford and FC United’s big collision with Skelmersdale on a day when the picture at the top end of the table could become somewhat clearer.
In the First Division North Ramsbottom United are pushing hard for a play-off spot and they face a big game at The Riverside as one of their main rivals for the top five Farsley cross the Pennines.
A win will put the Rams into the top five.
Elsehwere, Padiham could do with a boost of their fortunes when Burscough arrive at the Arbories.
Simon Garner’s Clitheroe are in mid-table but can push towards the top 10 and welcome Tony Sullivan’s unpredictable Cammell Laird to Shawbridge for what should be an open and entertaining game.
