Aneila Afsar will be looking to bring more glory to Pendle Vale College next month.
The 15-year-old is preparing for the biggest fight of her life when she competes in the World Championships in Chinese Taipe next month.
Aneila has set her sights on winning a gold medal before turning her attentions to trying to get in the the GB team for the Rio Olympics – after completing her studies.
“I’m going there to try and win the title,” she said. “I know it will be difficult but I have trained very hard to get there so I will be going all out for the gold medal.”
Gold at the World Championships may be a short term goal but her long term aim is to compete in the Olympic Games.
Aneila trains with the Great Britain squad on weekends and sparring with the best can only be a good thing.
“I want to be a world champion and I want to compete in Olympic Games so training with the best is a great way to improve.”
