BURNLEY boss Sean Dyche felt Bournemouth dealt better with difficult conditions in the 1-1 draw at Goldsands Stadium.
The game was in doubt on Friday after the south coast was battered by strong winds and rain.
But with the pitch draining well overnight and a better forecast for matchday, referee Graham Scott said the game would go ahead after a 7.30am pitch inspection.
As in the first meeting between the two sides this season the Clarets conceded first, with Tokelo Rantie breaking the deadlock.
This time it was a header from Ian Harte's corner which gave first blood to the Cherries.
But soon after Sean Dyche brought Ross Wallace and Keith Treacy on as a double substitution the Clarets were level, with the two combining as Treacy volleyed in Wallace's delivery from close range.
"I thought it was a pretty ugly affair," said Dyche.
"No fault of Bournemouth but the pitch is very poor. The weather down here has been unbelievable so I think they've done well to get it on.
"They played the pitch better so credit to them for that. And credit to us for believing and never going under.
"We have got that spirit in the group and it was on show again."
