KEIRA Walsh hit a 13-minute second-half hat-trick as Blackburn Rovers’ Centre of Excellence U17s side romped to a 6-0 home win over Sunderland in the FA Girls Youth Cup quarter-finals.
Rovers took a single-goal advantage into the break after Natasha Fenton fired in the rebound after Georgia Lamb’s shot was saved.
But the floodgates opened after the restart as new England U19 Women’s international Walsh hit a stunning quickfire treble.
Aisha Yallop maintained her record of scoring in every round, while the impressive Hannah Godfrey also got in on the act.
Rovers head coach Matt Johnson said: “It’s testimony to the girls that the club has now reached the semi-finals of the national Youth Cup two years in succession.”
Rovers will host Liverpool in the semi-finals on Saturday, March 1.
