SANDYGATE pair Reiko Rickwood and Brett Windle tasted fresh glory at the Clayton ABC show in Accrington.
Eleven year-old Rickwood kept his unbeaten record intact against Paddy O’Doherty from Hard and Fast ABC, and straight from the opening bell the Stoop’s Estate youngster gave his Yorkshire opponent food for thought.
Using his long reach well, Rickwood caught O'Doherty frequently, and showing his vast array of punches he caught his rival with upper-cuts and looping hooks.
The final round proved a one-sided affair and it was no surprise when Rickwood's hand was raised victorious to claim a 30-26 win.
Windle was pitched in against England international Gary Smith, representing Middleton ABC.
From the off, Windle never let up, forcing his opponent on to the ropes, working the torso and then switching to the head.
Windle kept up the pressure in the penultimate round, never allowing the taller Smith to settle.
It was only a matter of time before the Gannow lad sealed the verdict, which he duly did 30-27.
