WEST Ham lost in their appeal to get Andy Carroll’s ban for his red card last weekend rescinded...and that is good news for the whole of football.
Whether Carroll should have been sent off against Swansea is open to debate but the facts of the matter are that he was - and they lost their appeal.
But instead of taking the decision on the chin, the Londoners only enhanced the distasteful reputation of some Premier League clubs by threatening legal action and yesterday they lost an arbitration in a bid to get the FA’s decision overturned.
That was the right result. Well done FA.
