WINTER sports stars Kristan Bromley and Paula Walker are both in action at the FIBT World Cup event in Igls, Austria this weekend as they continue the build-up to the Winter Olympics in Russia next month.
Rossendale’s Bromley goes in the men’s skeleton event today, while Blackburn bobsleigher Walker competes in tomorrow’s two-women event with team-mate Rebekah Wilson.
The pair have yet to have their places confirmed in the GB team for next month’s Olympics, but both are expected to be included when the squad is named.
And the pair head into this weeken on the back of their best results of the season at last weekend’s meeting in St Moritz.
Bromley finished in fifth place and Walker came home eighth. Forty-one-year-old Bromley, who is engaged to women’s skeleton world champion Shelley Rudman, is currently 12th in the overall World Cup standings while Walker sits 13th.
Rudman is also in action this weekend competing in the women’s skeleton today.
