DJ Campbell has been named on the Blackburn Rovers bench for today’s home game against Sheffield Wednesday – and Rudy Gestede makes his first start for the club.
Birthday boy David Dunn, who turns 34 tomorrow, has a slight hamstring strain and is replaced in the starting line-up by Gestede.
It will be on-loan Cardiff City striker Gestede’s full debut for Rovers, who are chasing a third straight victory to maintain their momentum toward the play-off places.
There is a place on the home bench for fellow forward Campbell.
It is the first time that Campbell has featured since his arrest and subsequent bail by police probing spot-fixing allegations in football matches.
Struggling Wednesday have made four changes to the team which started their 2-1 home loss to Bournemouth on Saturday.
Former England keeper Chris Kirkland takes over between the posts from Damian Martinez while Glenn Loovens, Stephen McPhail and Jeremy Helan are in for Miguel Llera, Giles Coke and Jermaine Johnson.
Rovers: Eastwood, Henley, Dann, Hanley, Spurr, Taylor, Lowe, Cairney, Marshall, Gestede, Rhodes. Subs: Kean, Kane, Kilgallon, King, Campbell, Williamson, Rochina.
Wednesday: Kirkland, Palmer, Roger Johnson, Loovens, Reda Johnson, Lee, Semedo, McPhail, Maghoma, Helan, Nuhiu. Subs: Martinez, McCabe, Mattock, Llera, J Johnson, Olofinjana, Maguire.
