Alan Shearer says the football authorities should take a zero tolerance approach to players caught ‘spot-fixing’ in football - and the former Blackburn Rovers and England striker may just have a point.
The game has taken enough of a kicking over the past few seasons and the FA must stamp out this latest threat to the integrity of the national sport.
Maybe the bookmakers should take a look at themselves too.
You see adverts claiming the game doesn’t matter unless there is money on it...that is one thing that probably needs addressing.
