BLACKBURN ROVERS boss Mark Hughes will step up his pursuit of David Dunn when the transfer window opens after the player effectively said 'come and get me' last night.

Dunn is desperate to secure a return to Ewood, three years after he left for Birmingham City in a £5.5 million deal, and Rovers are keen to bring him back - providing it's at the right price.

A succession of injuries has limited Dunn to just 53 starts since the summer of 2003 so Rovers will look to broker a cut-price deal with City and then offer the midfielder a pay-as-you-play deal.

When asked about his future and the speculation linking him with a return to Blackburn, Dunn said: "Who knows? It's down to the club (Birmingham).

"I'm in no real rush to go anywhere. I've still got five or six months left on my contract.

"It's no secret I'm a Blackburn fan, I always have been, and one day it might happen.

"Whether that happens sooner or later is down to the two clubs."
