A TIBETAN monk has swapped the chants of the monastery for the songs of the terraces after becoming one of Burnley Football Club's newest fans.
Lobsang Thamkey - who is in the country to study English - was taken to watch the Clarets play Sunderland at Turf Moor at the weekend by Alan Beecroft.
Mr Thamkey, who is staying with friends of Mr Beecroft in Morecambe during his studies, is an avid football fan and was keen to get to a game as soon as he arrived in the UK.
Mr Beecroft, from Nelson, said: "He really enjoyed the game, even though Burnley didn't win." The game ended 2-2.
