BLACKBURN Rovers Ladies starlet Keira Walsh has been named in the England squad for the UEFA European Women’s Under-17s Championship.
England will host the finals between November 26 and December 8, taking the tournament outside of Nyon, Switzerland, for the first time since its inception in 2007. And Walsh, who plays for the Rovers Centre of Excellence, will feature at the eight-team tournament after she was called up into the host nation’s 22-player squad.
The midfielder will join up with her England team-mates at St George’s Park this weekend.
Walsh will be doing her best in training to impress manager Lois Fidler and win a place in the England side for their group opener against Italy at Telford on November 26.
England will then take on Austria at Chesterfield on November 29 before playing Portugal at Burton Albion on December 2.
The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals which take place on December 5.
