THE good news keeps pouring out of Burnley, what with Sean Dyche and Danny Ings doing the double with the manager and player of the month awards for October, another England Under 21 call-up for Ings, and now a feather in the club’s cap with Jay Rodriguez’s senior England call-up.

Jay has gone from strength to strength, from a young looking boy in the Burnley team to an absolute athlete now.

He has grown physically and with that massively improved as a player.

But all the foundations were laid at Turf Moor, from school boy to scholar to senior pro, and the club can be really proud of their role in his progression to a Premier League, and hopefully soon-to-be international star.

He is an inspiration to all the young players in the youth set-up for what can be achieved with hard work and dedication. It isn’t just about ability.

That raw talent was there with Jay, but he put the hours in away from the pitch and in the gym to build himself up to be the best he could be, and it has paid off for him.

Hard work has been a running theme in Sean Dyche’s reign, and the Clarets are reaping the rewards.

It would be amazing if we could again stay top going into the international break, and I’m sure we will.

But it’s important we don’t get complacent against a Bournemouth side who are looking to improve their away form.

The return of Eddie Howe adds extra spice to the fixture, and I imagine this is a game he wants to do well in more than most.

I hope he gets a good reception from the Clarets fans – I had a lot of time for him when he was in charge here, he’s a really nice bloke and very approachable, and he made some good signings for the club.

He will know what to expect from them, but equally we’re expecting his side to come out and attack and look to play, just as he always did with Burnley.

It should make for a good, open game.

It could potentially be a coupon buster, but I think we have enough in our locker to avoid that, especially after the character we showed to come back from 2-0 down at Millwall last weekend.

Not many teams will do that, and this time last year that is probably a game we would have lost.

We have come a long way, but I hope we can keep going.
