CONGRATULATIONS to Sean Dyche and Danny Ings on their awards, and you just hope the attention they’re getting won’t make it more difficult for the club to hang on to them.
I had my doubts about the manager at the start of the season but he has proved me wrong and has done a fantastic job.
He wants to win, he has that attitude and the players go out there every game believing they can win. That’s what you have to do and that comes with results too.
I’m told the only other managers who have won back to back manager of the month awards in the Championship have got automatic promotion, and that’s terrific.
But there’s a lot of games still to play this season and we will have to see how things look at Christmas.
You just hope that we can hang on to Sean because there are one or two Premier League jobs around and you always worry, particularly after what happened with Owen Coyle.
The manager will get attention from the award and he is already getting attention. It’s not just a week we’ve been top, it’s been quite a few weeks now.
We’re 10 points above the team in sixth – that’s three wins before they can get near us – so we’re in a great position.
Whether Sean has been approached you don’t know but he seems to be enjoying it here and hopefully he will be here for the long term.
It’s the same for Danny Ings, who has been scoring a lot of goals and really deserves his player of the month award.
We have to hang on to our best players in January.
Danny was one of the players that Eddie Howe brought to the club and I’m sure Eddie will get a good reception when he returns to Turf Moor tomorrow.
There’s no reason why he wouldn’t, he was a very unassuming and nice guy.
I got on well with Eddie and I think he was a fair manager, I think he did a decent job for Burnley.
It will be an interesting game for a few reasons, and hopefully we can get another win going into the international break.
