BURNLEY Snooker Club B cranked up the pressure on Pendle Kitchens Burnley and District Snooker League leaders Dickie Pinks A as they went through the card at Ighten Leigh.

Dickie Pinks went into the week with a six-point advantage at the top of Division One but were inactive thanks to a bye - and the Snooker Club took full advantage.

They stormed to a 5-0 win at rock-bottom Ighten Leigh B to move within one point of the leaders with both sides having won all of their six matches so far this season.

The win also took them above Alexandra A, who were made to work hard for their latest win of the season at Lowerhouse. Eventually they ran out 3-2 winners on their trip to Burnley.

Burnley Snooker Club A disposed of Miners A 4-1, while British Rail B enjoyed a 3-2 win at Burnley Golf Club B.

Greenhill B beat Paradise B by the same scoreline, while Ighten Leigh A saw off Paradise A, also by a 3-2 margin.

Golf Club A also picked up a win after scoring a 3-2 success on their trip into town to face Burnley Snooker Club E.

Ighten Mount are the new leaders of Division Two after they won their top of the table clash with Westfield D.

The Nelson side travelled as leaders and with a two-point advantage but when they departed from Burnley their trailed the new leaders by two points after crashing to a 4-1 reverse.

Dickie Pinks C enjoyed their trip to Walter Street as they roared to a 4-1 win over Brierfield WMC, while British Rail C saw off Burnley Snooker Club D 3-2.

Burnley Miners B were 3-2 winners over Greenhill A in another close match.
