BLACKBURN’S elite darters are taking aim in the Lancashire Superleague season on Sunday when they line up on the oche against Lune Valley.

The locals, the area’s only representatives in the county Elite Super 8s, welcome a normally strong North Lancashire outfit to the town and they are keen to bounce back to form after their loss at Oldham last time out.

Blackburn were beaten 6-4 after conceding a leg score of 33-23 when they hit the road 10 days ago.

Burnley were also beaten last time out and they are bidding to recover from the 7-3 setback at Stockport Borough when they line up against Little Hulton in the Super 8s, while Longridge are on their way to Eccleston and Chorley are in action against Fleetwood Town.

Chorley drew 5-5 when they headed to Little Hulton last time out, while Longridge need to bounce back from their disappointing 7-3 home defeat at the hands of Bolton.

West Craven were also beaten heavily in their last game but they return to their home board in Barnoldswick and face Southport keen to extinguish the memory of a chastening 8-2 loss at South Manchester.

Accrington also lost last time out as Southport Borough took a 6-4 success away from Hyndburn but the locals travel to Leigh high on confidence that they can return with the points.

The women are also in action on Sunday and Blackburn’s girls make the short Premier Division trip to Bolton on a mission to go one better than last time out when they were held to a 4-4 draw by Southport.

There’s tasty action in the First Division as Todmorden Town and Todmorden meet, while Accrington host Darwen in another derby.

Burnley go to Oldham and East Lancs are at Bury.
