BLACKBURN United are setting a furious pace in the Farleys Blackburn Combination Premier Division after a 4-0 win over Wellington Inn fired them seven points clear at the summit.
Blackburn Olympic roared into third place with a crushing 8-2 win over bottom club Islington, while Rishton United also went goal crazy, thrashing Vauxhall Inn 10-1.
Anchor grabbed a much-needed victory, cruising past Greenfield 4-1. Feildens Arms were also in the winning groove, crushing The Ivy Reserves 5-1.
In the Second Division, leaders Whalley Range suffered a shock defeat, going down 5-2 at home to The Lion.
It was Whalley Range's first loss of the campaign and second placed Clayton Park took full advantage - closing the gap to just a point after a 5-2 win over Blackburn United Reserves.
Blackburn Eagles are the only team without a point in the two divisions, and their defenders were left chasing shadows again as IMO raced to a 4-1 win.
In the other fixture, Rishton United Reserves triumphed 2-1 at third bottom Alexandra Hotel.
