The 2013 Trampolining season finished recently with Blackburn’s Alex Bagnall completing her best ever competition season.
The 13-year-old achieved the scores required at the final event on the final qualification competition – reaching the British Championships for the first time.
The Championships were held at the LG Arena NEC in Birmingham where she finished a creditable 26th place.
Alex, who is a member of Jump UK Trampolining Club, then travelled to Germany to participate at the International Baltic Cup in and again impressed with a sixth-placed finish before competing in the North West Championships finishing – taking fourth place in her individual group and was sixth in the World Age Group assessment group.
Alex and her partner Megan Davies, also from Jump UK, finished third in the Ladies Synchronised.
Alex, who is a pupil at Our Lady and St John Catholic High School, is the current Lancashire Schools Champion.
She trains two, sometimes three evenings a week and all day on Saturdays at Jump UK Trampoline and Gymnastics Club which has a main base at Penwortham.
Her club was recently awarded the Lancashire Community Club of the Year at the Lancashire Sports Awards.
She is now taking a small break from top flight competition, but does compete at the Lancashire Schools event on Sunday.
However her main priority now will be training and preparing for 2014 National circuit and for her next International in June.
