YOU wait months for a last minute win then two come along in a week!
The hard earned point combined with results elsewhere mean that at long last we are off the bottom of the table.
Admittedly we are still second bottom, but it’s a definite lift for hard pressed Stanley fans.
It might not have been the prettiest of displays from the Reds and the weather definitely played its part in that but the fact that we are now taking points from games that previously would have produced a defeat is encouraging.
Peter Murphy was once again the Stanley hero and he is worthy of all the plaudits for the amount of effort he is putting into each performance.
James Beattie and the rest of his squad can look forward to extending our unbeaten run into the FA Cup this weekend when we take on Tranmere Rovers.
I cannot overstate just how important the cash from a good cup run would be to our club.
In order to continue the miracle of survival in League football we either need another 1,000 fans through the gate each week or a wealthy benefactor with very deep pockets.
If we can progress to an away fixture against one of the big Premier League clubs then we can virtually guarantee the next 10 years for our club.
With that in mind I urge everyone to bring a friend or six to the match on Saturday and let’s roar the lads onto glory!
