BLACKBURN Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has named an unchanged side for this afternoon’s visit of managerless Middlesbrough to Ewood Park.

But Bowyer has had to make two alterations to his substitutes’ bench.

DJ Campbell is suspended following his sending off in last Saturday’s 2-2 derby draw at Blackpool while fellow striker Leon Best is injured.

Best hurt his groin in Tuesday’s Lancashire FA Senior Cup 3-2 win over Rochdale.

The Republic of Ireland international’s absence means Bowyer – who is without 10 first team players – does not have a replacement forward on the bench and just one in his starting line-up in the shape of the Championship’s leading goalscorer Jordan Rhodes.

Middlesbrough make two changes to the team that started their 4-0 home victory over Doncaster Rovers as George Friend and Jozsef Varga replace Ben Gibson and Mustapha Carayol.

It was Mark Venus’ first match in caretaker charge following the sacking of Tony Mowbray.

Rovers: Kean, Kane, Dann, Kilgallon, Spurr, Cairney, Lowe, Williamson, King, Judge, Rhodes. Subs: Eastwood, Marshall, Songo'o, Taylor, Marrow, Morris, Henley.

Middlesbrough: Steele, Williams, Woodgate, Ayala, Friend, Smallwood, Leadbitter, Varga, Adomah, Emnes, Kamara. Subs: Leutwiler, Richardson, Butterfield, Jutkiewicz, Hines, Carayol, Gibson.
