AT Stratford it is fascinating to see Hayjack make his chase debut eight days after unseating Aidan Coleman at the first over hurdles on his reappearance having been well backed.

It is possible that he will be none the worse for that experience and with the Charlie Longsdon yard continuing in good form he is a threat but Midnight Prayer (2.10) looks every inch a chaser and with the Alan King yard in such good form he is taken to make a winning debut over the larger obstacles.

Lightly raced for an 8-year-old the selection won first time out after a near two-year lay-off 12 months ago and has obviously not been the easiest to keep sound.

First time out might be the time to catch him and he looks sure to run well.

The frustrating Snake Eyes (2.40) has got bags of ability but must learn to settle if he is to fulfil his potential. Third in a valuable Bumper at Fairyhouse in 2012 he remains a horse of huge potential and don’t be surprised to see him turn up in a valuable handicap later in the season.

It would be no surprise to me to see stablemate No Routine race very prominently to ensure a decent gallop.

Milo Man (3.10) goes well fresh and will be a decent price in the feature race on the card for Richard Lee.

He started making mistakes which curbed his progress last term but I know connections felt he could make a decent staying chaser a couple of seasons ago and he goes well for regular pilot Michael Nolan.

I think The Druids Nephew (3.40) has been poorly handled by connections given that he has often been asked to race right-handed over trips too far.

He has his ideal conditions today and must go close in a cracking 2m 4f handicap chase. The Venetia Williams yard are going to hit form sooner rather than later and Bennys Mist would be a danger to all if ready first time but until the Williams’ yard hit form I will leave the stable alone.

Andy Kelly (4.10) looks sure to have been extensively schooled since making an encouraging debut at Kempton in a race where the yard had won twice in the three previous years.

McCoy rides Bob Keown for Rebecca Curtis and Billy Biscuit won his sole point and makes his debut under rules for Alan King. It should be a cracking contest but one where the vote goes to the Emma Lavelle-trained Andy Kelly.
