Blackburn Rovers have been handed a tough draw in the last 32 of the UEFA Cup.

Mark Hughes' men will travel to face German side Bayer Leverkusen at the Bay Arena on either 14th or 15th February, while the return leg at Ewood is scheduled for 21st or 22nd February.

The winners of the tie will then play French side Lens or Greece's Panathanikos in the last 16, with the first leg away on March 8 and the second leg on March 14 or 15.

Leverkusen, former Champions League finalists, boast German World Cup star Bernd Schneider and Brazilians Juan and Roque Junior.

They pipped Turkey's Besiktas to the final qualification place with two late goals in their crunch group B clash last night.

That was Leverkusen's only victory in Europe this season, having lost to Spurs and Dinamo Bucharest and drawn with Club Brugge.

Bayer, who won the competition in 1988, are currently in seventh place in the German Bundesliga.
