WHAT a difference a week makes! Two wins, four goals and more importantly six points gets our season well and truly back on track.

Both victories were extra special in their own way. The first against Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night saw the Reds come back from a goal down to register a first win of the season.

Despite a few jitters in the second half the performance was impressive and as I have been saying for weeks, the football on display was of a cracking standard.

On Saturday it was our favourite away trip of the season, to a Morecambe side who were unbeaten at home heading into the game.

The significance of this fixture cannot be overstated. While our Lancashire derby rivalry is definitely on the friendly side, the decade of dominance we have had over our seaside rivals is a source of immense pride among Stanley fans.

There is no better way to beat your local rivals than a last minute winner – and Peter Murphy deserved his moment in the sun after the effort he has put in over the last few games.

The next few games are crucial to our league survival and we must maintain our winning momentum.

That said, with the absence of a midweek game, I am not looking too far into the future and instead am just basking in the glory of two Stanley victories.
