SEAN Dyche praised an all-round team effort following Championship leaders Burnley's 2-0 win over nearest rivals QPR.

The Clarets stretched their winning run to eight games, after a Danny Ings double condemned Harry Redknapp's side to their first league defeat.

But while Ings grabbed the limelight, keeping ex-Claret Charlie Austin in the shade in his first game back at Turf Moor since leaving in the summer, Dyche said he was impressed with performances all over the pitch.

“I'm very pleased – delighted with the things I talk about a lot, the tactical framework of the team, the understanding the players are finding, the energy, the effervescence of the team but most of all the quality. I thought some of the quality was absolutely excellent,” said the Burnley boss.

“The first goal was good enough to grace most pitches – the movement, the link play, the pace of it and of course the quality of the finish. There were many good things.

“I thought we played really well in the first half and had some good half chances. We were on the front foot and we were looking to penetrate and open them up. But they're a very good side obviously, they've only conceded four goals, so it's not as easy. Words are easy, delivering it is different.

“Overall I was very happy with the first half but made it clear to the players at half-time that they were going to have to go even harder because they're not an easy group of players to crack.

“I was really pleased with the endeavour and the tempo and also the quality to open them up and score and Ingsy to get the penalty as well.”

Ings broke the deadlock with his 12th of the season in the 65th minute, after linking superbly with Sam Vokes around the edge of the box and finishing well from 12 yards.

Ings added the second in the 88th minute after being fouled by Joey Barton and sending Robert Green the wrong way from the spot.
