PETER Murphy was the late, late hero as Accrington Stanley made it two wins on the spin as they piled on the pain for Morecambe in the Lancashire derby.
The Shrimps have not beaten Stanley now for 13 matches - a run dating back to the club's days in the Football Conference - and Murphy's late strike in the 2-1 success at The Globe Arena also took the Reds, bottom of the league, level with Northampton Town and within a point of escaping the drop zone.
Danny Webber's penalty gave Stanley the lead on 19 minutes and they led at the break.
But Morecambe drew level through Jack Sampson's drilled effort five minutes into the second half.
Both sides had chances before Murphy struck at the death to send the Stanley fans home happy.
