BLACKBURN boss Mark Hughes is considering a January move for Ukrainian international defender Andriy Nesmachniy.

The 27-year-old has been invited for a trial with Rovers before the transfer window opens, subject to permission from his club Dynamo Kiev.

Nesmachniy has landed over 50 Ukraine caps and played in all five of his country's matches during this summer's World Cup in Germany.

A one-club man to date, robust defender Nesmachniy came through Dynamo's youth set-up and has four Ukrainian title winner medals and three Ukrainian cup winner medals to his name.

With Rovers facing a battle to preserve their Premier League status over the coming months, Nesmachniy's experience and versatility could well make him an attractive option.
