For long periods of the game on Saturday you would have been hard pushed to know which of the teams was second in league and which squad was at the bottom.
Don’t get me wrong Marcus Bettinelli had some busy times in the Stanley goal and indeed he pulled off a couple of superb saves, but on the whole Stanley matched high flying Oxford United all over the park.
We should have had a winner in injury time as the ball was cleared off the Oxford line but we are getting used to what if.
Two draws in a row represents a run of good form for the Reds this year and the teams above us will not relish taking us on at the minute.
The most remarkable thing for me is that even without a win in our first 12 games we are still only five points from safety.
We can narrow that margin tonight if we can overcome Bristol Rovers a team not too far above us in the division.
Then on Saturday we make the short trip to high flying Morecambe, we have had a decade of dominance over the Shrimps and fingers crossed we can extend that run even further.
