Colne’s new managegment team got off to a winning start with a resounding 4-0 win at Alsager on Saturday.
Dixon Lambert and Steve Pickup have taken over the reigns at the XLCR Stadium following Nigel Coates departure after 10 years in charge.
Still smarting from their defeat at Nelson, the Reds needed a good performance and did not disappoint with some top class finishing.
After a bright start, Jason Hart made the breakthrough in the 18th minute with a great strike on the turn from 22 yards.
Michael Saunders made it 2-0 on 24, firing home a partially cleared corner.
Hart scored his second and Colne’s third five minutes after the restart, nipping past a hesitant defender before slipping the ball past the advancing keeper into the empty net.
And Michael Woodvine completed the scoring with a stunning dipping volley in the 70th minute.
