ROSSENDALE United hit four past managerless Nelson to earn a place in the Lancashire FA United Co-operative Challenge Trophy third round.
North West Counties Division One side Nelson, whose boss Graham Howarth resigned after Saturday's 4-1 defeat at Silsden, controlled the opening 15 minutes.
But they were stunned when Rossendale took the lead against the run of play.
And the UniBond Division One side didn't look back after that.
Phil Eastwood opened the scoring on 12 minutes when he latched on to James Haywood's throughball.
Eastwood grabbed a second on 37 minutes after Matt Edgington beat two defenders to fire in a low cross.
Eastwood turned provider five minutes later when he burst down the right and crossed for Neil Zarac to head home at the far post.
Edgington put the result beyond doubt straight from a 22-yard free kick early in the second half.
