ROSSENDALE United put all the off field drama to one side as they recorded their first ever win at the Dovecote thanks to a superb solo strike from Matt Edgington.
Manager Derek Egan finally gave in to the pressure that was mounting on him to use the popular winger and Edgington proved his point in the 37th minute with the only goal of the game.
It was a low key first half of few chances, the better of them falling to the home side.
Andy Bourne had the first strike in anger after eight minutes, but the returning Danny Caldwell savedcomfortably at his near post.
Two minutes later Daryll Thomas passed up an even better opportunity, Caldwell diving left to save the striker's penalty after a handball in the area.
What turned out to be the only goal came from Dale's one real effort of the half.
Edgington cut inside from the left, beat two men and hammered a shot into the top corner giving Jonathon Noon no chance.
