Mark Hughes reckons Lucas Neill will not let speculation regarding his Blackburn Rovers future affect the level of his performance against Newcastle today.
The Australian international, who wants to quit Rovers when his contract runs out, was a target for the Magpies on transfer deadline day in August.
However, a deal never materialised so the former Millwall man may well view today's game as another opportunity to put himself in the shop window.
"They showed an interest allegedly - amongst others," said Hughes.
"It's been difficult for Lucas. Every day people ask about his situation so you have to deal with it, but I've been pleased with how he's handled it."
