BLACKBURN Hawks return to competitive ice hockey tomorrow - raring to go after a timely two-week break.

General manager Graham Lomax admitted the rest had been extremely beneficial for his tiring squad, but is now ready to get back into the thick of the action.

"The break came at a great time of us," said Lomax. "Now everybody is fresh and looking forward to playing romorrow.

"The extended break gave all the lads carrying injuries an extra week to recover and now we should have an almost full squad for the trip up to Whitley.

"Craig Rogers is our only doubt through injury and he will probably need another week."

Hawks face Whitley in the Northern League Cup competition tomorrow night and Lomax admits the pressure is off for his side.

"The Northern League has been tough for us this term. We obviously want to win every game we play, but this competition is not a priority for us.

"We have played Whitley twice this season and lost both times, mainly through our own error.

"It is an intimidating place to go and they certainly play on that, but if our team clicks then we can turn anyone over - I'm sure it will come."
