BURNLEY kicked off the 2013/14 with a derby draw at home to Bolton Wanderers.
Danny Ings gave first blood to the Clarets, carrying on an impressive summer scoring streak.
But Bolton were level before the break as an unmarked Darren Pratley was allowed to drill beyond Tom Heaton from ex-Claret Chris Eagles' ball.
There were chances for both sides to clinch the game in the second half. But it was perhaps only fair that an even game was reflected in the scoreline.
Burnley will be disappointed with the goal the conceded though, after Ings worked hard to force the lead.
Latching onto a knockdown the striker sprinted clear of David Wheater and into the box, where he sidefooted across goalkeeper Adam Bogdan and into the far corner.
There was some dispute over whether it should be an own goal courtesy, but it's unlikely the back-tracking defender would wish to lay claim to it.
A bright Burnley were worthy of their 26th minute lead, but Pratley equalised just over 10 minutes later when Eagles found Pratley in space.
Heaton was called into action in the second half, and saved well from substitute Craig Davies.
Bogdan fumbled from a Stanislas free kick but Burnley couldn't capitalise from the corner.
