GARY Bowyer has dismissed claims that a season-long loan deal has been agreed for UAE international Amer Abdulrahman - but did confirm Blackburn Rovers' interest in the midfielder.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to Rovers and Mubarak Awad, the deputy chairman of Abdulrahman's club Bani Yas, was quoted as saying: "Blackburn were in touch, they sent a letter.
"He is not for sale but we will send him out on loan. He will go next week and train with them and after that stay for the season."
But Bowyer has made it clear that Rovers have not agreed to loan Abdulrahman and would want to take the player on trial first if they decide to pursue any interest.
"When the name got mentioned as a season-long loan, I don’t know where they get the season-long loan from," he said.
"If the player was someone we would be interested in, we’re not just going to take somebody on a season-long loan straight away.
"We would always make sure we’ve had a look at them."
Asked if Abdulrahman will arrive on trial, he added: "I don’t know, he’s another name that’s on the list."
