Former Burnley FC boss Stan Ternent, 60, will stand trial at crown court accused of assault causing actual bodily harm.
The defendant, of Hollings Farm, Cliviger, who has pleaded not guilty to the allegation, was bailed until January 29, by the town's magistrates.
He is accused of head-butting his alleged victim at Burnley Cricket Club on August 6.
