COLNE travelled to St Helens, who were full of confidence after their 5-0 thrashing of Squires Gate in mid-week, but they were shocked by two goals from the visitors just before the half time interval.
After an even start, Ted Cockett found himself in space on the edge of the box and he lashed home into the far corner giving Graham McCall no chance.
Moments later Colne increased their lead when James Blackburn and Anthony Murt combined well for Murt to fire home at the far post.
Minutes into the second half Colne added a third when Michael Cruz put Blackburn through the middle and he finished well from the edge of the area.
St Helens grabbed a late consolation goal through Sean Robinson.
