THE Houldsworth Solicitors Ribblesdale League were knocked out of the Reader’s Inter-League Trophy at the semi-final stage the Bolton League after they lost to them in last year's final.
And after they batted first on a glorious day at Salesbury, they seemed favourites to exact just that.
Ian Britcliffe’s men posted 270-5 on a red hot afternoon at Ribchester Road.
Ribblesdale Wanderers' Aussie Ben Dougall made a brilliant 100 with Joe Marshall (50_ and Brannon Varley (46 not out) also made key contributions.
But their hopes and dreams were shattered as the Bolton League – who had changed their team totally from the previous round – cantered home with six wickets to spare on a special afternoon for the batsmen.
