WESTHOLME have completed a clean sweep of Lancashire badminton titles after winning county crowns at under 14s, under 16s and under 19s.
Throughout the autumn and spring terms, the Blackburm school has competed against teams from across Lancashire in the Red Rose Badminton Competition.
The format saw teams playing both singles and double matches.
Westholme’s under 14s and under 16s teams played well throughout the competition and reached their respective finals.
In the under 16s final, Westholme were up against Mount Carmel school.
While the Hyndburn school raced to a 2-0 lead after winning both singles matches, Westholme came back strongly in the doubles to win by 5 matches to 2.
The under 14s final was an all-Blackburn affair against St Bede’s in what proved to be a tense encounter with just a few points separating each match before Westholme eventually won 5-2.
With the under 19s also winning their age group, it completed a clean sweep.
And there was double success in netball as Westholme were also crowned Blackburn with Darwen netball champions at year seven and year eight
