Burnley's worst fears have materialised with the news that 10-goal striker Andy Gray could be out of action for two months.
The results of X-ray scans have confirmed that Gray broke three metatarsals in his right foot during Tuesday night's victory over Leeds United at Turf Moor.
And the injury could now keep Gray sidelined until February.
Burnley manager Steve Cotterill said: "It is obviously a blow to lose Andy as he has been in exceptional form since he came to the club.
"He is a terrific team player and he will obviously be missed."
