Accrington Stanley boss John Coleman has urged his players to take the momentum of Tuesday's second half display into tomorrow's home game against Shrewsbury - the only game in League Two.

Coleman was pleased with the battling qualities his side showed against League One Doncaster in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy northern section quarter final, particularly after being reduced to 10 men when Shaun Whalley was dismissed on 50 minutes.

And despite losing 2-0, the Stanley manager was encouraged by their second half shut-out.

"I thought the lads showed great character, a great work ethic, a great team spirit and took the game to Doncaster," he said.

"They had 11 men behind the ball in their own last third for long periods in the second half, and that's testament to how hard our lads work and how well they played.

"We haven't had a win for what seems like ages but I class that as a moral victory in the second half."
