MURAD Iqbal may be one of the youngest competing in the World Junior Eight Ball Pool Championships but he is not just going there to make up the numbers.
At 15-years-old, the St Wilfrid’s High School pupil will be up against players three years his senior – but he is used to mixing it with the big boys.
Murad plays for VIP Snooker in the Blackburn and District League and is captain of Lancashire Under 18s.
While he admits it could be a little too early to conquer the world, he will be definitely be giving it his best shot.
“I’m going there looking to win but I know that will be very difficult,” said Murad who won through rounds in Preston and Essex to reach the final which start today. “I’ll be one of the youngest there, if not the youngest, so it is all about the learning experience and I am really looking forward to it.”
Murad will also be competing in the World Masters event which will begin on Thursday.
