Charcoal Grill grab the Blackburn Midweek cricket league headlines this week after a great game against Little Harwood.
Batting first Charcoal amassed a magnificent 174 for 5, with some impressive batting from Naeem Ashraf with an unbeaten 43 and Manzoor, not out on 42.
Not to be fazed by a huge total, Little Harwood started their innings well and were up on the run rate.
But once they lost the in-form Asfaq Patel for 45, the task of requiring 12 runs per over looked impossible and finished 15 runs short.
This leaves Azad Kashmir needing just one victory from their two remaining games to be crowed champions after they beat Eleven Stars by thee wickets.
But they are not easy games as they are up against joint-second placed Little Harwood and Highfield who have beaten them already this season.
In Division One, the nerves are getting to Premier CC, after being unbeaten all season they have lost games back to back.
Rising Stars won by nine wickets with Asif Bhojani 67 not out. Second-placed Shahi Warriors won by two wickets thanks to Haron’s 67 not out.
And should Premier slip up, in-form Audley Eagles are closing in the top spot as they continue their winning run with victory over Rising Stars and Chorley MCC.
