Oswaldtwistle Immanuel stalwart Gerard Metcalfe claimed a hat-trick on a s Super Sunday as the New Lane side claimed an impressive Houldsworth Solicitors Ribblesdale League win over Whalley.
Metcalfe’s titanic triple came with his first three balls as Whalley collapsed chasing 158-9.
Ramiz Hussain and Oliver Jones both made half centuries in that total and Whalley were already facing an uphill struggle at 36-5 when Metcalfe was introduced.
He had Simon Gorton caught and bowled first ball, Stephen Kerr caught with his second before Iqy Hussain nicked the third through to Mark Groom to complete a remarkable feat.
Whalley in the end were 53 all out.
Read dug deep to claim a big win over upbeat new boys Euxton to maintain their fine form.
Euxton batted well at Balshaw Park and got up to 198-9 with Joe Marshall claiming four wickets.
That was a testing target and when Read started to lose wickets it seemed Euxton could make it two wins in two days.
But Warren Eastham top scored with 39 to take his side to a three-wicket win.
Edenfield are another team in form and they chased down Great Harwood’s 153-8 in style.
Paul Houldsworth had too scored with 65 for Harwood while Liam Bones claimed seven wickets - but Edenfield pro Paul Gallagher hit a brilliant 96 not out to steer his side to a 10-wicket win.
Cherry Tree beat Brooksbottom, while Ben Dougall’s unbeaten 80 led Ribblesdale Wanderers to a nine wicket success at Padiham.
Clitheroe beat Barnoldswick in a game where both professionals Kashif Siddiue and Imran Khalid both claimed seven wickets and Salesbury paid man Susantha Pradeep hit an unbeaten 61 and picked up five wickets as the Red Caps beat Earby.
Eddie Read claimed seven wickets as Settle beat weakened Baxenden.
