TRY machine Sam Lothian set Rossendale on their way to victory as they climbed up to eighth place in National League Three North.
The young winger scored the first of Dale’s five tries in a bonus point victory as the Marl Pits side look to finish the season in form.
Lymm has scored the game’s opening points with a penalty but for the rest of the half it was all Dale running in four tries to guarantee the bonus point before the interval.
A pick up by Tom Bedlow put Lothian away for the first, Steve Nutt adding the conversion.
Good play by Nutt and Danny Collins and a break by Tom Albinson brought up the second as the supporting Paul Keys coasted in close to the posts – Nutt was again on hand with the extras.
It was the full back again who 'bagged' the third, breaking down the touchline to set Lothian away before backing up on the inside to take the scoring pass.
Nutt added the conversion before Collins secured the bonus try after Paddy Pole had picked up at the back of a maul and the number eight had caught his own chip over the defence to go under the posts. Nutt was again successful with the conversion.
The full back slotted a penalty early in the second half but with Collins despatched to the sin bin Lymm took full advantage to run in three quick tries and a conversion before Collins made amends on his return to claim a fifth from a catch and drive.
Nutt was again successful with the conversion to snuff out any hint of a Lymm comeback.
Dale host lowly Birkenhead Park on Saturday.
