BURNLEY have an outside chance of a top four finish in North Lancs One after picking up the full five points against basement side Bury.
But with only three games to go – and all against the top three teams – it is set to be hard end to the season.
Burnley took the lead with a Steve Kent penalty to steady early nerves before player/coach Simon Finnan dummied his way through for the opening try, converted by Kent.
Next to score was Ed Taylor who started the game filling in at centre then moved to the wing outsprinted is opposition and scored in the corner to put Burnley 17-0 up at break.
The second half was much the same as the first with sloppy areas, such as knock on and weak rucking causing Burnley to take time to get the bonus point.
But a strong run out wide by Ryan Bradley saw Burnley score the third try and the extra point came as Matt Crowley sprinted away to score under the sticks, again converted by Kent.
Kent scored and converted the final try following a fine team move.
Burnley, who have a rest day this Saturday, have three tough games remaining.
The can break in to the top four but also can affect the baring of the top two.
