BLACKBURN went the way of every other side in North Lancs/Cumbria Division when they slipped to a heavy defeat at Wigton.
The league leaders maintained their 100 per cent record with a seven-try romp to make it 19 wins out of 19.
Wigton now hold a commanding 19-point lead over second-placed Eccles and with just six games remaining, promotion is virtually assured.
Wigton captain Matthew Atkinson lead by example, running in four tries while Gree Smith, David Hanabury and Will Miller all added touchdowns for the home side.
With Wigton leading 45-0, Blackburn could easily have led their heads drop.
But inspired by their Man of the Match, half back Sean Hall, they came battling back.
Theo Coleman threatened with two strong carries down the left flank and it took a great tackle from John Story to deny veteran Damo Miller as he tried to burst over from close range.
Their consolation finally came when a dropped midfield pass was hacked on and alert open side flanker Norton Johnston won the race to touch down.
