Matt Crowley led the try charge with a brace while there were also touchdowns for the Angelone brothers Luca and Nino, Tom Ives, Joe Till and full back Brian Kelly.
It was the third time Burnley had secured back-to-back wins this season and the second time they had scored more than 40 points, And all this after they gifted their hosts the opening try of the match.
But it was the last time Garstang wer to breach Burnley’s defence and victory was build on a solid all-round team display.
Burnley got back into the game with a training ground move and over went Luca Angelone.
They were now starting to take control and winning scrummage ball against the feed which led to a second try.
Matt Higson broke blindside and quick recycled ball saw Ryan Bradley fed Tom Ives who went over and Crowley added the conversion.
In the second half, Burnley’s back three of Till, Kelly and Crowley began to open up thanks largely to some good rucking and tackling by the forwards.
And a third try soon followed when a quick penalty by Simon Finnan gave captain Nino Angelone the chance to power over.
Finnan then chipped through and Till won the foot race to score with Steve Kent – returning after a lengthy spell out through injury – adding the conversion. From the resulting kick off, Burnley forwards took it forward creating quick ball for Finnan to go through and again release Crowley for is second of the game.
However, the final try was the best as Ives linked with Crowley who released full back Kelly, who danced down the touchline to round the final defender to complete the scoring.
Player coach Finnan said: “It was pleasing to see Steve Kent returning after a lengthy injury lay off and see Dave Lord come on and scrummaged effectively while Joe Till was back on the wing.”
