Colne and Nelson returned to action in style as they travelled up the M6 to Carnforth – and returned home with the points after a fine win.

The home side were looking a third win on the bounce, but the All Blacks were set for the challenge and within the first two minutes Nathan Grant charged over for a try.

The home side soon hit back as it was Colne’s turn to feel the pressure as Carnforth crossed to level.

At this point the game could have gone either way, breaks from both teams were forcing some big hits at the tackle.

Carnforth were looking strong and made some good runs but Colne have excellent in defence this season and the closing stages of the half saw Colne edge ahead as Tindal slotted over a penalty to lead 5-8 at the break.

Colne came back after the break with a similar start to the first half as again the pressure turned the game in their favour as Carnforth fumbled a clearance to allow the All Blacks to go over for an eight point lead.

Carnforth narrowed the gap to five with a penalty as Colne were reduced in numbers following the sin-binning of Aaron Denton was sin binned and Carnforth went in to level minutes from the end.

The locals had to dig deep to keep Carnforth out and they managed to break clear as Connor Kinnane found the gap and cruised over for five points giving Colne the all-important lead and the four points from the win.
